Activities in Leipzig
LeipzigAs a university city Leipzig has blossomed from the former grey mouse within a few decades to the Saxon trend metropolis "Hypezig", which rightly carries the subordinate title "Little-Berlin". As a lively metropolis and world-famous music city, the city on Elster, Pleiße and Parthe combines numerous cultural influences to create a unique cocktail, which is enjoyed best shaken and not stirred in the numerous hipster bars in the city centre of Leipzig. Being both elegant and somewhat "pretentious" at the same time, Leipzig reveals itself on a tour between the futuristic university building on the Augustplatz, the historic town hall, the arty Plagwitz city centre and the viewing platform at the Monument to the Battle of the Nations. The historic city centre also offers great views from the St. Nicholas Church, where Johann Sebastian Bach worked, and where the fall of the Berlin Wall began with the peaceful Monday demonstrations. Whoever has the emblematic little devil sitting on their shoulder, can pay a visit in the footsteps of Goethe to the Restaurant "Auerbachs Keller" in the well-known Mädlerpassage.
